Snapshot Movie Reviews (2015)

  • Ex Machina – Trippy, intellectual sci-fi awesomeness.
  • Mad Max: Fury Road – Loud. Fire. Explosions. Dumb, but pretty.
  • Inside Out – Pixar’s best film since Up! Easy win for Best Animated.
  • The Good Dinosaur – Weak plot, strong visuals… a mixed-bag for Pixar.
  • Ant-Man – Another formulaic comic book movie, but sharper than most.
  • Trainwreck – Reminded me of Judd Apatow’s stronger comedies. That’s a good thing.
  • Grandma – Awesome little film that nobody will ever see.
  • Jurassic World – Mind-numbing garbage. This never shouldn’t be a franchise.
  • Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation – This series is still… surprisingly great!
  • The Hunger Games: Mockingjay ll – Competent, smart, depressing. No complaints.
  • Sicario – Underrated. The Academy overlooked this for Best Picture.
  • The Walk – Riveting, intense… but man, that main character was an idiot.
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron – Passable, but pretty sub-par compared to the first.
  • Minions – Was stoned as balls for this one… laughed so much it hurt.
  • 007: Spectre – I expected better, but it delivered enough for me.
  • The Martian – Eh. Couldn’t help comparing it to (the vastly superior) Interstellar.
  • Spotlight – Important, powerful, and true. Fuck the Catholic Church.
  • Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Not very original, but still made me very happy.
  • The Revenant – If DiCaprio doesn’t win Best Actor for this, he never
  • The Hateful Eight – I liked it. Not Tarantino’s finest work, but solid.
